Steelhead

The colder weather moving in has gotten the steelhead moving in good numbers.  Anglers are reporting good numbers of catches in Ohio from Vermilion to Conny.  In PA the numbers of spawning steelhead has increased and most fish are in the faster water now looking from the spawning partner.  Fly fisherman are using streamers and single egg patterns.  Spin fisherman are using eggs and jigs.

Walleye

Walleye night bite has picked up quite a bit from last week.  Walleye fishermen are getting limits outside Cleveland and Huron fishing just before dark and into dark.  Most are slow trolling large jerk baits or husky jerks in size 12 and 14.

Perch

Perch have moved around since last week and anglers were having a tough time trying to find the fish.  Once they found the fish using shiners was the ticket.  One report came in from Huron saying 32 FOW straight north of the river and another report from in from of the Castle out of cranberry creek.

Steelhead

After recent rains steelhead are starting to show their faces in the lower stretches of Ohio Lake Erie Streams. The Rocky River has been giving up some nice steelhead in the lower stretches this week. Walnut Creek and Elk creek lead the way in Lake Erie steelhead this week, the creeks are full right now and anglers are reporting limits being caught in streams.

Walleye
Walleye continue to be caught out of vermilion. Most are heading to the sandbar with some fish being caught in close after dark. There are still fish being caught out east but they are on their way back to the west. They are more spread out in open water now.

Perch

Perch are still being caught out in about 24 to 40 FOW out of Huron and Vermilion. Also, Ashtabula has reports that they are getting limits in about 60 FOW. Minnows have been the best bait so far and so have golden shiners.
